As mentioned in AWS Config Advance Queries against Aggregator sample, the Advance Queries is really handy when you are trying to get a list of resources that are in multiple accounts and multiple regions.
Today I learned that Advanced Query does not support all regions. For example, ap-northeast-3 (Osaka) is not supported. Thats why the query result does not have the resources in Osaka region. I have to say it is a bit misleading as you actually can choose ap-northeast-3 (Osaka) in the aggregator setting.
At the time of writing, here is the list of the supported regions.
