There used to be lots of debates on what is the best container orchestration platform? Is it ECS or Mesos or Nomad or swarm or Kubernetes ? With some moves in the industry recently, I think the answer is obvious now – Kubernetes is the winner!
What happened in the past a few weeks?
- Docker announced ‘Adding Kubernetes support in the Docker platform‘
- Rancher announced ‘ Rancher 2.0 will only support Kubernetes‘
- Microsoft announced ‘Introducing AKS (managed Kubernetes) and Azure Container Registry improvements‘
What I think will happen soon?
To complete with GKE and AKS, there is a big possibility that AWS will launch a new managed container service which is based on Kubernetes too. And I guess it may be called EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) to follow their own naming convention,
