In the past, the only reason I know that could cause CSV get into redirected access mode is the VSS. Generally, the CSV can get out of redirected access mode after cleaning of the VSS shadows. But Today I see another reason – McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise Patch 1.
If you install the VSE Patch 1 and restart the host, you will find the CVS in ‘Redirected access’ status and can not get out of it.
The reason for this is that the McAfee filter driver (mfehidk.sys) is using decimal points in the altitude to help in identifying upgrade scenarios for their product. But the Cluster CSV filter only accepts whole numbers and puts the drives in redirected access mode when it sees this decimal value.
There are two mfehidk but it does not cause trouble until the next reboot.
After reboot, the issue starts to come out.
Two solutions to fix it:
First, Uninstall the VSE8.8 w/ Patch1, and reinstall the package wo/ Patch1.
Second, install the Microsoft hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2674551
