Amazon has been promoting AWS (Amazon Web Services) since they officially entered Australian market in November last year. I attended their AWS Summit 2013 last week in Sydney. Again, I am convinced that Cloud is the future.
As my usual learning habit, the first thing I always look at is the concept and architecture. For AWS logical architecture, it has 5 layers starting from bottom up : AWS global infrastructure, Foundation Services, Application Platform Services, Management & Administration and Users’ Application.
In terms of services, AWS offers 5 major categories: Compute & Networking, Storage & Content Delivery, Database, Deployment & Management and App Services.
As a beginner, the best place to start is to register an AWS account and use AWS Free Usage Tier as your lab resources.
