You may get this Critical Error once you click the ‘Tivoli Data Protection for VMware’ in the Solution and Application. It means something is incorrect, and leads to the VMCLI command failed to run.
The first thing you need to do is to check the log which is located in ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Tivoli\TDPVMware\VMwarePlugin\logs\vmcli’ on the proxy node. In my example, I get an invalid TCP/IP address which was caused by that I renamed the TSM server couple weeks ago.
FUNCTIONS 17:15:04,694 (171502780) ANS1033E (RC-53) An invalid TCP/IP address was specified.
Now, let me stop ‘Data Protection for VMware vCenter command-line interface’ service.
Then correct this error in the ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Tivoli\TDPVMware\VMwarePlugin\scripts\vmcliprofile’ by changing the old server name to the new one.
VE_TSM_SERVER_NAME TSM_SANDBOX
Start the ‘Data Protection for VMware vCenter command-line interface’ service. Then try the TSM for VE Plug-in again. Perfect! It works now.
