When you remove a VirtualCenter server, the self-signed certificate that was imported when you added the VirtualCenter server is not removed from the certificate store on the VMM server. It is recommended that you remove the certificate by following the steps in the following procedure.

To remove the certificate from the VMM server

  1. On the VMM server, open the Microsoft Management Console in authoring mode. To do this, on the Start menu, click Run, and then type mmc /a.

  2. On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.

  3. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog box, add Certificates to the selected snap-ins, and then click Add.

  4. In the Certificates snap-in, select Computer account, and then click Next.

  5. In the Select Computer dialog box, select Local computer, click Finish, and then click OK.

  6. In the Certificates navigation pane, expand Certificates, expand Trusted People, and then click Certificates.

  7. Select the VMware certificate in the list. Then, in the Actions pane, under VMware, click Delete.

  8. Restart the Virtual Machine Manager service to complete the removal.
