Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 24, 2026
Overview
What’s New with AWS (“the App”) is developed by Jackie Chen. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
- Your feed preferences and settings
- Read article history
- Archived articles
- App theme and display preferences
- Podcast voice preference
This data is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and is not transmitted to any external server.
Data Processed by Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services to provide AI-powered features:
- Supabase — used for serverless edge functions that process AI briefings, article summaries, and audio podcast generation.
- OpenAI — used via Supabase edge functions to generate AI briefings, article summaries, and text-to-speech audio.
When you use AI features (daily briefing, article summary, podcast), article titles and content snippets from publicly available AWS news feeds are sent to these services for processing. No personal information is included in these requests.
Subscription Information
Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple’s App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Subscription status is verified locally on your device using StoreKit.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Advertising identifiers
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Article content snippets are sent to our AI processing services solely to generate briefings and summaries, and are not retained after processing.
Data Retention
All user preferences and history are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. AI-generated content (briefings, summaries, audio) is cached locally and automatically cleared based on your retention settings.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
